Words of advice about your Study.

Are you confused with your choice of studying abroad? Having doubts over such an important choice in life is normal and you are not the only one who is feeling these insecurities.

There is something we would like to share with you: being a student, your main task is to learn, to develop, and to improve your skills. It may not be that new advice you have heard a million times before – the old standby of do not forget to study – but there is something deep behind these trite words which you will not fully understand before you are out of school.

Your education days are incomparably sweet. This is when your mind is fully open to new things, when you can fully commit fully to learning without the responsibilities that you will be given later in life. Education does not merely fill your brain with information but it develops your personality, expands your outlook and provides the background of all that you will accomplish in the future.

I am not telling you not to take up career opportunities when they come by. Should an opportunity arise, which can be regarded as real, then by all means, weigh it. But keep in mind that career development and education do not go hand in hand. The history of the world is full of successful stories of people who went back to school in their later years – some were forced to the literature of their career, others were just not able to stop loving studying.

I also understand that a lot of you are concerned with political instability and other unpleasant happenings in other nations. Although such concerns are acceptable, keep in mind that such challenges prevail everywhere from a long time but in different levels. As a student, these are not the external factors that you need to focus on. The political events are temporary and they are not in your control but what you learn in terms of knowledge and skills will remain in you forever.

Consider your education as an investment into yourself, the kind of investment, which is beyond the reach of any economic crisis or political upheaval or any external situation. Critical thinking abilities, cultural sensitivity, and individual development that you will acquire through studying abroad will help you all your life.

Then, accept this experience without fear. Stay interested and concentrate on learning, and believe that you are doing the right decision in your future. Your academic commitment in the present will form the foundation of your achievement in the future.
