Why CAREER COUNSELLING is Required for Young Generation?

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could’ -Robert Frost

Why CAREER COUNSELLING is Required for Young Generation?

This seems to be the state of mind of many youngsters, when they are looking for a direction for their future. It is true that the choice that they make might be irreversible. It might not be possible for them to come back and start afresh. Hence, career counselling becomes all the more important for these youngsters so that their dreams are not directionless.

Counselling is a broad term, referring to the process of helping a person by providing guidance, moral support, and exploring solutions. A career counsellor can be called the GPS for the naïve youth, as he is someone who understands their personality, and knows how to give the right direction to their thoughts.

With a plethora of courses and institutes to pick from, international students are often left wondering which one would be the best for them, and ‘Google Baba’ comes to their rescue! However, search engines can only help students explore the options; it will not provide them with clarity about their aptitude and interests. The internet cannot analyze their interests, strengths, and weaknesses and thus can’t offer them career options that might be right for them. Career counselling led by a professional on the other hand, involves spending time to understand the person before guiding them on to the best possible options.

Students must be cautious while choosing a guide for themselves as career guidance doesn’t come unless your go-to person is passionate about building lives, and his experience has simmered over the years, thus making it a perfect success recipe, for you to relish for the rest of your life!!
