Decision Making is not the same as Action. Here’s a truth bomb: deciding to do something and actually doing it are two completely different things.
The majority of the individuals do not succeed because they are not ambitious, but because they do not make the decision into act. You may have the desire to learn something new, start a business or get healthier, but it is not enough to desire
Think about it. On which occasions have you made a commitment to begin exercise, acquire a new skill, or get moving on that business idea? You felt pumped, inspired and prepared to go. But then… nothing happened.
It is so because your brain deceives you. You get a little dopamine upsurge when you make a decision. It feels productive. You think, I’ve got it all figured out! But the point is (no pun intended) that you are not even off yet.
The Distance between Decision and Action.
The decision is followed by the actual work. That’s when you need to:
- Set a specific date and time
- Make your goal small enough and breakable.
- Get in the way of what you are doing.
- Share your goal- accountability can create miracles.
Most individuals become trapped in decision mode, where they keep on planning and developing their ideas. In the meantime, those who made decisions and took actions are already getting results.
The Real Secret
That is what the distinction between dreamers and doers lies in: consistency outsmarts intensity all the time. Minor day-to-day activities add up to miracle outcomes.
Your Next Move
Do not wait until the opportune time. Whatever decision you made yesterday becomes worth nothing when you do not act today. A small scale idea—but even small ideas can shine bright!
What is the first thing you can do in the next 24 hours in relation to what you have already decided? Do as you have decided or planned. Send that email. Write the first paragraph. Make the phone call.
Keep in mind: do not plan anything, do something.
